One of the basic apps that people have on their phones is a radio streaming app. They're usually easy to use, come with a long list of stations divided by genres and feature car mode for when you're driving. Radio FM incorporates most, but not all of the features you'd need from a radio app and some nice surprises.
Simple GUI That Needs An Update : One thing is for sure, the developers of this app didn't focus on the user-interface, but rather on listing stations from all over the world. You can actually find stations from remote countries or popular ones from your location. You can also filter stations by popularity and likes.
You have the option of checking out the long list of stations or typing in a genre that you're looking for. Other than that there are no suggestions related to your preferences or any charts with the top stations.
Favorite Stations Or Check Out Recent Ones : As expected, you can favorite stations to make your own list or just check out recent ones. There's also an option of adding a radio station to the list. The controls bar is at the bottom of the screen, with icons for pause, stop, favorite, volume control and more.
One of the neat things about this app is that it allows you to make a homescreen icon for your favorite station, as a shortcut. You can also set a sleep timer, from a minimum of 5 minutes to up to 6 hours, but keep an eye on the battery as the app consumes quite a lot.
No Car Mode Nor Widget : This app is truly easy to use and comes with a few advantages, but it lacks essential features for any radio app. One of them is car mode, absolutely indispensable if you tend to listen to radio an drive at the same time, which is what most people do.
Also, there are no widget for your homescreen, which means that you'll have to keep the app open all the time. Radio FM app also encounters problem with streaming stations. Some of them are unavailable, even if you try them later and even they air right in the city you live in.
